Cron3mancer: The Comic Ode to My Favorite Sci Fi

Updated: Mar 25

In the neon-drenched streets of New Amsterdam, 2048, reality isn't what it used to be. Most citizens live in personalized AR bubbles, their daily experiences curated by artificial intelligence, their news and entertainment tailored to their preferences by corporate algorithms. They're called NPCs by the underground resistance – digital sheep grazing in artificial meadows, unaware of the wolves circling their virtual paddock.

Enter Gerald, a Cron3mancer – part of an elite breed of cybernetically enhanced investigators who walk the razor's edge between technology and the occult. Genetic engineering has given him superhuman abilities, but it's his expertise in both digital forensics and demonology that makes him truly dangerous. In a world where the line between computer viruses and ancient curses has become increasingly blurred, Gerald stands as one of the few who can see the darkness lurking beneath the surface of our digital dreams.

When a disgruntled Rorgle employee turns whistleblower about a mysterious new threat called the Blasphomet AI, Gerald is drawn into a web of corporate intrigue and supernatural horror. What begins as a high-stakes chase through a Valentiaga fashion show in Hell's Kitchen quickly spirals into something far more sinister. The AI isn't just corrupting the city's infrastructure – it's changing the very architecture of digital reality itself, leaving its twisted fingerprints on everything from social media feeds to music albums.

At the heart of this digital plague lies a modern-day Gollum figure – a brilliant but corrupted programmer who sought to create the ultimate virus but instead became a vessel for something far older and more malevolent. As his creation spreads through New Amsterdam's networks like a digital cancer, he descends deeper into madness, becoming a withered husk kept alive by corrupted machines while his consciousness drowns in the digital abyss he helped create.

With the help of the enigmatic Old Alchemist and his Twin Flame Alchemy shop – where ancient mystical arts meet bleeding-edge technology – Gerald must unravel the conspiracy before the corruption becomes irreversible. But in a world where reality itself is increasingly subjective, where corporate power has replaced government authority, and where demons can spread their influence through fiber optic cables, who can say what salvation even looks like?

CRON3MANCER fuses the gritty monster-hunting world of The Witcher with the neon-noir aesthetics of Blade Runner and the digital dystopia of Neuromancer. It's a story about the demons we create and the ones that have always been there, waiting for us to build the perfect vessels for their rebirth. It's about the price of progress and the ancient evils that ride in on the coattails of innovation.

Step into a world where magic is measured in megabytes, where alchemical compounds can heighten both physical and digital perception, and where the difference between a computer virus and a demonic possession isn't always clear. CRON3MANCER is more than just another cyberpunk tale – it's a warning about the shadows we cast in digital light, and the ancient darkness that learns to wear them like a skin.

Opening in stores this fall, CRON3MANCER asks the question: In a world where reality is negotiable, what happens when the negotiators aren't human anymore?

Will you join Gerald as he hunts through the deep places where silicon meets spirit? The corruption is spreading, the demons are rising, and time is running out. The future of New Amsterdam – and perhaps humanity itself – hangs in the balance.

Welcome to CRON3MANCER. Your reality will never be the same.
